Year in, year out we often hear people make series of new year resolutions as they are stepping into a new year, but often times we notice that such promises were hardly kept. What could be the reason? This short article will open your eyes to the brain behind this yearly predicament. Behold are some of the reasons ;

  • Based on human strength: Most attimes people make new year resolutions basing their decisions on "I will do" confidence. However, one would agree with me that "human strength is always limited" and bound to fail at all times; that is why the word "fatigue" is associated with man. So why Making new year resolutions, it is good that one base his decision on a higher power that will help uphold his resolution, which could either be God or Allah.
  • It is a Common trend: Many who make new year resolutions just do it to fulfil all righteousness. They are taking that decision because it is a normal trend; that others are also doing it. So, they do not take it seriously.
  • Laziness: It is one thing taking a resolution and another thing keeping it. Many just speak empty words. Since their mouth is without padlock, they just say anything they want freely without an action taken. Such people as a result are never taken seriously, because they make no efforts to keep to their resolutions.
  • Misplaced Priority: Many people who make new year resolutions do not take it as a priority. While they plan what to do in the new year, they're immediately distracted and before you know it, they are pursuing something else. This distraction could be caused by friends, family members, relationships etc. So, anyone making a new year resolution must ensure to make it her priority. With this now, you can quickly reflect on your life in time past, imagine where you would have been if you kept to your resolutions. This year is another chance to make it in life. Remember you are not getting younger. Happy new year.
