Why Teachers are Important; an extract from Fortune Magazine

Teachers are the builders of the nation. Although, they may not appear very rich, yet they render the most important service for our country’s progress.
The reason for my words is that leaders in all nations of the world had pass through the teachings of a teacher or the other. Even in our dear country, Nigeria, our leaders who led our country to independence would not have done so without education which brought about their exposure and enlightenment to fight for the country’s freedom. We all know there is no proper education without a teacher.
Without teachers, we would not be able to have educated people in the country. Nigeria would have been an uncivilized country. There would be no banker, no politician, scientists, no engineer to mention but a few. A country without teachers is like a lorry without tyres.
Teachers are true leaders of civilization in all countries. That is the reason I say they are the builders of nations. I cannot but give kudos to all teachers and wish them more power and strength to impact knowledge. God bless you, teachers.
